Positive Life Kenya (PLK) was founded in 2010 by Mary Wabwire, driven by a deep commitment to protecting children and strengthening families. Having witnessed firsthand how HIV, poverty, lack of information, and weak family systems leave children vulnerable,
She envisioned a community-based response that would restore dignity, build resilience, and create lasting opportunities for children and their families.
Her passion for helping vulnerable children was born out of personal experiences, seeing how entire communities struggle when safety nets for children break down. With this vision,
she set out to create an organization that empowers families and communities to provide strong, loving environments where children can thrive.
What began as a small community outreach in Mlolongo has grown into a vibrant, multi- county initiative with programs in Kilifi, Machakos, Busia, Nairobi, and Kajiado counties.
Over the years, PLK has stayed true to its mission:
Today, PLK is recognized as a trusted partner in child protection, family empowerment, and
community development anchored in the belief that strong families create strong futures for children.
Over the years, PLK has expanded its work to include:
From a single grassroots initiative to a recognized force for change, Positive Life Kenya continues to be driven by a vision of communities where every child grows up safe, healthy, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential
